The Craig Fallon Cup returns in 2025 as a powerful tribute to one of British Judo’s greatest ever athletes. Designed to celebrate the legacy of Craig Fallon, a World and European Champion, this competition brings together judoka from across the country to honour his memory through the sport he devoted his life to.
This year’s event promises to be bigger than ever, featuring fierce competition, incredible talent, and a strong sense of unity across the judo community.
Continuing Craig’s Legacy
Craig Fallon’s impact on judo was immense — not just as a champion, but as a coach and role model. His passing left a gap in British Judo, but the Cup stands as a lasting symbol of his values: dedication, humility, and technical excellence.
Lions Judo is proud to be involved in this prestigious event. Our very own coach, Jagjit Singh Khera, is one of the key organisers helping bring the competition to life this year. Jagjit, who shares a passion for developing young athletes, is working alongside other clubs and officials to ensure the 2025 edition is a fitting celebration of Craig’s legacy.
More Than a Tournament
The 2025 Craig Fallon Cup wasn’t just about medals — it was about community, remembrance, and support.
One of the highlights of the day was the fundraising randori sessions, where judoka of all ages stepped onto the mat for a continuous series of friendly sparring bouts. These randoris weren’t just great judo — they were done to raise funds for two powerful causes:
- The Craig Fallon Foundation, which supports the development of young judoka and promotes mental wellbeing within the sport
- The mental health charity Mind, in recognition of the importance of psychological support for athletes, coaches, and the wider judo community
Donations were collected throughout the event, with a spirit of generosity that reflected exactly what Craig stood for — resilience, support, and unity.
